| yummo! |
OK so I may have accidentally lied :P . . . whoops! in regards to the last post, the absolute first thing that I made during my hectic weekend was actually scones . . . I had been wanting to try them for quite a while but hadn't been aloud to but finally on Saturday morning I got up and whipped up a batch. I guess you could say that I done them three different ways. To start I made half a recipe, needed them and then halved the mixture. I then added some vanilla extract to one half and left the other half as is. as it turns out though, I did over kneed the mixture (and can I just say for my future reference, when working with scones, "kneading" is practically pushing and rolling three times - if not less until it is JUST mixxed together) therefore they didn't rise and the half with vanilla . . . lets just say they resembled a rock! but of course I couldn't end there, so I made another half a batch and kneaded them no where near as much! they turned out a lot better but they still weren't "good scones" according to me!
one of the problems that I have with scones it the taste/smell . . . to me it smells like off flour and they don't taste much more appetising then that (unless there hot!)
but hopefully I will be able to try them again soon!
